2nd Canadian Young Geotechnical Engineers and Geoscientists Conference - Oct 25-27 2007

Following on the success of the 1st Canadian Young Geotechnical Engineers and Geoscientists Conference (cYGEGC) held at Quebec City in 2004, the 2nd cYGEGC will be held in Gananoque, Ontario between October 25 and 27, 2007. Set at a small resort near Kingston, ON and in the beautiful Thousand Islands Region of Southern Ontario, the 2nd cYGEGC will provide an opportunity for the younger members (35 and younger) of the geoengineering and geoscience communities to interact technically and socially in a relaxed and intimate setting outside of the annual Canadian Geotechnical Conference held to previous three days in Ottawa.

By combining an interesting technical exchange, keynotes by leading Canadian practitioners and researchers, as well as networking and team building activities, the aim of the conference it to provide an environment that attendees will not only be comfortable in exchanging technical learnings, but form personal linkages with peers across the country which will remain throughout their careers.

For employers and supervisors, the 2nd cYGEGC will provide your staff with a unique and valuable opportunity for professional development and networking with Canada's leading young geoengineering and geoscience practioners and researchers. The 2nd cYGEGC will also provide an opportunity for the attendee to showcase your organization to this audience and could thereby aid in recruiting from the best and brightest that are coming out into geoengineering and geoscience workforce in Canada.
