Field trip
- The field trip will depart from the Westin Ottawa on the morning of Thursday, October 25th, 2007. The bus arrives at 8:15am and departs at 8:30am. If you are staying at the Westin, please arrange to check out by 8am to ensure we are all ready to depart at 8:30am sharp. The field trip will consist of two stops along Rideau Canal (Stop 1 - Rideau Canal Museum, Stop 2 - Jones Falls Lockstation) followed by a 3hr Thousand Islands Boat Cruise, ending at 6pm. Following boat cruise we will check into the Glen House Resort. Dinner is scheduled for 7:30pm. Two snacks in addition to lunch will be provided during the field trip and there is a washroom on the bus.
IMPORTANT: Wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather!
Social Events
- Wednesday October 24th, 2007 - Ice Breaker reception from 5-7 pm, following Ottawa CGC 2007, located in the Bonaventure Parlour, 23rd Floor, Westin Ottawa. There will be a cash bar and munchies will be provided.
- Friday October 26th, 2007 - Local Colour night: The bus departs the Glen House Resort at 5:45pm for the Ghosts of the Fort, "Are you Afraid of the Dark" Tour. This spine-chilling tour takes you inside the mysterious Fort Henry, Kingston's 19th century fortress. You will be guided by lantern light through the haunted hallways of the old Fort as your guide recounts its tragic history.
IMPORTANT: The tour is partially outdoors, partially indoors and contains several flights of stairs. The tour is 1.5hr in length. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable shoes! Following the haunted walk we will be having dinner at the Kingston Brewing Company.
